Filming on council properties

We do not charge for basic street filming (crew of five people or less with hand-held camera or tripod only). However, a facilitation fee and film officer time may occur for larger crews.

We charge for issuing licences, plus facilitation fee, to film companies using equipment such as track and dolly, cranes and cherry pickers on the highway or for high impact filming.

We also charge for any type of filming on council property, such as parks or housing estates. Please note that all costs must be covered and film officer time is charged at £65 per hour. If less than three working days notice is given the admin fee is £120.

We will usually waive administration and location (exterior only) costs for students from recognisable colleges and universities.  Students may like to look at the Film London website.

Please note that dispensations can be ordered with as little as 48 hours notice and suspensions require 14 to 16 working days notice.

Film Officer additional time (i.e site visits) is charged at £65 per hour.
