The council has granted planning permission for a new sustainable development in the Alperton Central industrial site.

The new building will be built on the former Ford premises and will provide more than double the amount of floorspacecreating 9,718sqm of flexible industrial space for businesses.

In addition to workspace, it will open up a huge range of opportunities for the local community, expected to generate up to 150 new jobs and apprenticeships.

Councillor Shama Tatler, Lead Member for Regeneration, Property and Planning at Brent Council said:

We welcome this new development to Alperton Central. It will bring inward investment into the area, whilst providing much-needed industrial workspace for a range of businesses, including start-ups.

“It will also create hundreds of new jobs and apprenticeships in the community.

The building will incorporate a number of sustainability features including electric powered heating systems, PV panels and air source heat pumps with a carbon emissions saving of 103%.”

Works are expected to begin in 2022.
