Young people invited to share their views at “Building a Safer Brent for Young People” event

13 February 2020

Young people from across Brent are invited to The Drum, Wembley Park to help develop an action plan to make Brent safer for young people.

Taking place during half term the event, which was designed for and by local young people, will provide an opportunity for young Brent residents to speak, be heard and have their suggestions actioned.

At the “Building a Safer Brent for Young People” event, attendees will engage with guest speakers, discuss what safety in the borough means to them and create digital content to share with local schools and other stakeholders.

By moving through different “zones” on the day, the young people will be able to have multiple opportunities to contribute and chances to win prizes for active participation.

This event is running in parallel with the West London ‘Challenging the narrative’ event, which brings together key youth organisations from Brent and neighbouring boroughs.

Following both events, young people will be able to present their ideas and priorities back to the youth organisations.

Cllr Mili Patel, Cabinet Member for Children’s Safeguarding, Early Help and Social Care said: “We want to provide every child in Brent the opportunity to succeed. Young people are the future of this borough and it is essential that we listen to their views on key issues they are passionate about. Working with young people and getting their feedback in this way is at the heart of how we build a safer Brent together.”

There are limited places and all attendees need to book in advance. To register to attend please go to
