Calling all dog owners!

16 July 2014

Today at Brent Civic Centre is Canine Awareness Day! Come along between 9.30am - 3pm to meet the Animal Welfare Service team to register your dog and receive advice and free goodies!

Free microchipping (kindly supplied by The Dogs Trust) will be available. Please do not bring your dog into the Civic Centre.

A microchip is a legal requirement from 6 April 2014 for all dogs. A microchip is a small capsule, painlessly inserted into the scruff of the dogs neck, that contains a pet identification number unique to your pet. Should your dog go missing and is found by the Councils Animal Welfare Service, or vets they can scan the dog and quickly reunite you with your pet. Failure to ensure your dog is microchipped may result in a £500 fine.

If you can't make today, there are other two other events:

30 July Preston Park 12noon to 2pm - feel free to bring your dog and have him microchipped while you wait

12 August Barham Park 9.30am to 11.30am - feel free to bring your dog and have him microchipped while you wait.
