Brent Music Service are delighted to announce a new musical initiative which could enable successful participants to perform at Wembley Arena as part of the forthcoming Brent Makes Music 2014 extravaganza.
The Motown Singing Day is open to all young singers, aged 14 to 18, from across the borough and will take place between 10.30am and 3pm on Monday 14 April at Claremont High School.
In addition to enjoying learning and singing some of the greatest Motown songs by artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and Diana Ross and The Supremes, participants of the Motown Singing Day will also be auditioning to join The Brent Singers, either as a member of the senior choir and/or as a soloist.
The most successful male and female singers will be selected to join the choir and can look forward to the exciting prospect of rehearsing and then performing at Wembley Arena on 15 July as part of the Motown Symphony feature of this showcase event.
The Brent Singers, Brent Music Service's senior choir, rehearses at the BMS Ark Evening Centre every Tuesday from 7.15 to 8.15pm. The choir offers a great opportunity to learn a broad range of songs of mixed styles and is a perfect development on from the BMS Junior Choir, but specifically for older singers.
It works towards preparing concerts for public performances and develops the ability to effectively sing in harmony, as well as encouraging members towards solos and features to fully extend their potential ability.
All successful attendees of the Motown Singing Day who are invited to join The Brent Singers will need to be able to attend these regular rehearsals to enjoy the full benefits of being part of the choir and to ensure they are fully prepared to perform the Motown Symphony at Wembley Arena.
If you wish to attend on Monday 14 April please email firstname.lastname@example.org writing Motown Singing Day in the email subject.
