70 businesses apply for Brent Council’s Small Business Saturday Awards!

24 October 2019

Brent’s Small Business Saturday Awards celebrate local businesses that have gone the extra mile to make sure that their shop, restaurant, or café stands out from the crowd.

This year, over 70 local businesses have applied for Brent Council’s Small Business Saturday Awards, to celebrate their successes in the borough.

Awards will be handed out to the businesses with the best shop front, the best interior and the best cultural event.

The Brent business with the best online presence will also be recognised, as will the business which makes the best contribution to the environment and community.

There will also be an award for the friendliest business in Brent and an award to celebrate the best business partnership.

The awards are a local, council-run addition to Small Business Saturday – a national day of celebrating Britain’s High Streets and encouraging people to shop local, which will take place on 7 December 2019.

Cllr Shama Tatler, Brent Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Property, said:

“Local businesses are the lifeblood of our High Streets which is why we are supporting them through initiatives such as the Small Business Saturday Awards.

“The Small Business Saturday Awards are a way in which we can further recognise those businesses who, as well as providing local jobs and supporting local economic growth, also make Brent such a brilliant place in which to live, work, shop and visit.

“Good luck to all businesses who have entered.”

Details of the shortlisted business will be announced shortly.
