Brent Council will be hosting a major event to mark International Day of People with Disabilities.
The theme for 2015 is Inclusion Matters: access and empowerment of people of all abilities. The day aims to increase understanding of the barriers facing people with disabilities and promote participation and inclusion.
Taking place on 3 December, the event will include a workshop on the implications of the new Care Act for people with disabilities, as well as stalls offering advice and support from a wide range of voluntary and public service providers on everything from health to benefits advice, and assistive technology to accessible transport.
The day will also include entertainment from wheelchair dancers from New Millennium Day Centre
The event runs from 11am to 2pm on 3 December, and will be in the Grand Hall at Brent Civic Centre, which recently won a major national award as an accessible building.
