Brent's hardworking foster carers will be able to access a range of free sports activities this year thanks to a fantastic partnership with 3 local sports centres: Bridge Park Leisure Centre, Vale Farm Leisure Centre and Willesden Sports Centre.
The partnership will provide Brent foster carers with access to a range of activities that will help them stay fit and healthy.
- free Gym Inductions, Sauna and Steam sessions, Racket sports and Fitness on Demand sessions at Bridge Park Leisure Centre
- free tennis, badminton or squash sessions and free family swim sessions at Vale Farm Sports Centre
- free family swim sessions and gym passes at Willesden Sports Centre.
Councillor Ruth Moher, Lead Member for Children and Young People, said:
"We know that our foster carers often have a challenging role, providing 24/7 support to children and young people in care who come from different backgrounds and circumstances. We hope that the free sports activities will encourage foster carers to look after themselves and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Our foster carers provide an invaluable service to the children and young people of Brent and we believe this scheme is something which not only rewards them for the care that they provide, but it also promotes their well-being, and that of their families."
We need more foster carers in Brent to look after our vulnerable children and young people in care. For information about fostering and adoption in Brent, visit our webpages at www.brent.gov.uk/fostering.
