An innovative recruitment package launched today (11 May 2016) in Brent offers social workers a smarter, more supportive workplace to do the job they love.
iBrent is the future of social work; it offers social workers reduced caseloads and provides them with the technology to enable them to get their jobs done as seamlessly as possible.
Brent Council has launched this package in order to grow its team of experienced, permanent social workers; spreading the caseload and enabling social workers to deliver quality, child-centered care. With iPhones, iPads and Zip cars, social workers can spend more time out and about doing direct work with children and families instead of having to spend time at their desk.
Brent is also part of the Signs of Safety England Innovation Project, an approach that allows social workers to bring their creativity, as well as their expertise, to the way they work with children and families.
Cllr Ruth Moher, Brent Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:
"When a social worker practices in Brent, they join a local authority that is committed to providing its social workers with the best tools and all the support they need to do their job, with clear career progression opportunities.
"We know that the most important thing to social workers is being able to go out and spend as much time with children and families; building long-lasting, trust-based relationships and seeing first-hand, the real difference made to their lives. iBrent will enable Brent to strengthen its team of experienced social workers and build on the excellent support it provides.
"It concentrates just as much on what social workers want from their job as what the council wants from a social worker."
