The Mayor of Brent - Cllr Parvez Ahmed, hosted his first fundraising event last week.
Over 300 guests attended the event which was held to raise money for his three chosen mayoral charities - Brent Centre for Young People, Sufra North West London and Community Action on Dementia Brent.
It was a packed affair with support from a number of people and organisations, including Brent's MPs, Dawn Butler and Tulip Siddiq, Leader of the Council - Cllr Muhammed Butt and a number of former Mayors of Brent. Also in attendance was the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Nadia Shah, and guests from across the world including France and Bangladesh.
The auction and raffle alone raised over £2,350.
Mayor of Brent, Cllr Parvez Ahmed, said:
"Last week's fundraising event was a fantastic evening and I was overwhelmed by the amount of support received.
"Brent Centre for Young People, Sufra North West London and Community Action on Dementia Brent are three amazing charities and I am so pleased to have started my fundraising effort for them.
"I would like to thank everyone that bought tickets and donated. Brent is an amazing borough with a great community spirit and I am very much looking forward to further events in the future."
The Mayor's next fundraising events take place on Thursday 15 December and Thursday 16 March.
