Electoral canvass launched in Brent

4 August 2016

Households across Brent are being asked to confirm their voter registration details as part of an annual canvas by our Electoral Services Team.

By the end of this week, every household in the borough will have received a form from us displaying the electoral roll records that we have for that property, as part of a canvass that we must carry out each year.

On receiving the letter, you simply need to go online by 19 August 2016 and confirm the details held are correct, or let us know of any changes. Alternatively you can return the paper form by post, or telephone 020 8937 1372.

Carolyn Downs, Returning Officer and Chief Executive at Brent Council, said:

"Councils are legally obliged to carry out this canvass of our electoral register each year and by law, residents need to confirm that the details we hold are correct or help us update our records.

"Not only is it a legal requirement, it is also important so that we can ensure that everyone who is eligible to vote is on the register, ahead of any future election.

"It's easy to complete and takes two minutes, so make sure you complete yours before 19 August."
