The results are in and Brent's A Level performance is now above the national average.
This year, there was a 4 per cent increase in the number of A Level exam entries in Brent. However, despite this increase, Brent's pass rate increased to 99 per cent. This is 2 per cent points higher than last year's results in Brent and also, above the national average of 98 per cent.
The number of students awarded A*- B grades was 54 per cent, higher than the national average of 53 per cent and the number of students awarded A* grades stayed at 8 per cent, which is equal to the national average.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt, said:
"I am delighted that our students in Brent are achieving A Level results that surpass the national average. Since the results were published last Thursday, I have really enjoyed hearing about some of the fantastic individual achievements of our young people from all over the Borough.
"These results are a testament to the hard work of our young people in Brent and also that of the many dedicated teachers, staff and governors who have helped them along the way.
"This is an exciting time for those who have received their results and I wish them the very best for the next step in their lives."
