GCSE Success in Brent

The results are in and GCSE results in Brent have improved.



Last year, the proportion of young people in Brent attaining five GCSE grades A*- C including English and Mathematics was 60 per cent. This year, that figure is 63 per cent - an increase of three percentage points.



This year's national average is not yet available, however, Brent has beaten last year's national average of 57 per cent.



Leader of the Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt, said:



"I am really pleased that our GCSE results have improved from last year. Every year, it's a joy to hear some of the incredible stories of individual achievement across the Borough. Our young people are a credit to Brent and I would like to congratulate them on the hard work they have put in this year.



"I would also like to thank Brent's many dedicated teachers, staff and governors who work tirelessly to help our young people reach their full potential.



"Finally, I would like to wish those who have received their GCSE results this year the best of luck for the future."
