Have your say on on-street parking in Brent

31 January 2017

Residents and businesses are all being encouraged not to miss out on having their say on how on-street parking is managed in Brent.

The council is seeking the views of everyone in Brent so that residents get the most suitable parking controls for their neighbourhoods. This includes considering whether new Controlled Parking Zones should be introduced, reviewing the existing Controlled Parking Zones to see if they are effective, and introducing parking and loading restrictions where needed.

Cllr Eleanor Southwood, Brent Council's Cabinet Member for the Environment, said:

"We're committed to better managing on-street parking so that people who need a parking space can find one, whilst encouraging people to use more sustainable transport where possible and taking action to tackle poor air quality.

"Many of our CPZ arrangements were implemented a long time ago and may no longer provide the parking options that residents need. I'm pleased that in response to comments from the On-street Parking and Charges consultation earlier this year, we're able to offer this opportunity to review current arrangements and also look at potential new CPZ's where there is a demand for them.

"Anyone who would like the council to review parking arrangements where they live is encouraged to fill in the online questionnaire and, ideally, to support their request with a petition demonstrating likely support for change from other local residents."
