An initiative to celebrate the achievements of pupils and teachers in Brent was launched by Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, at QPR FC's match with Brighton last week.
'Brent is Brilliant' has been organised by the Brent Schools Partnership to celebrate educational achievement in Brent which includes outperforming the national average at both GCSE and A Level and nearly two thirds of young people achieving passes in the core subjects of English and Maths.
BiB will showcase some of this educational achievement at an event at Wembley later this year.
Cllr Butt and Mike Hulme - Brent Schools Partnership, were joined on the pitch by two pupils from Queens Park Community School in Brent - Stan Cain and Lorcan Barnett.
Cllr Muhammed Butt, said:
"I was delighted to launch 'Brent is Brilliant' at QPR, particularly as QPR in the Community Trust does so much to support education in Brent. I am looking forward to the event at Wembley to celebrate the considerable achievements of Brent pupils and teachers."
QPR in the Community Trust works with many schools in Brent to mentor pupils, particularly those at risk of exclusion. Any local businesses or community groups who would like to support 'Brent is Brilliant' should contact Mike Hulme on firstname.lastname@example.org.
