Man hit with almost £900 in fines for dumping waste
6 February 2018
A Willesden resident has been convicted in court and slapped with an £865 fine after being caught dumping rubbish behind a neighbour's property.
Hector Yepes was caught in October 2016 after illegally dumping rubbish on a public highway in Linacre Road, having previously ignored instructions from council officers on how to dispose of waste lawfully. He was found guilty in Willesden Magistrates Court on 30th January 2018.
Cllr Southwood, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said:
"This case should serve as a warning to anyone considering dumping their rubbish in public and not taking responsibility - this is a crime and you are risking a hefty fine. It's not fair on the vast majority of Brent residents who take pride in keeping their neighbourhood clean and tidy."
