Brent is open for business

20 February 2019

Over 70 small and medium sized businesses attended Brent's first Winning Business Show to hear a range of speakers deliver masterclasses in subjects such as business planning, marketing, and exporting.

The event on 12 February at the Sattavis Patidar Centre in Wembley has been hailed a success by businesses across the borough.

Described by one attendee as a 'great event, adding value to local businesses', the day offered SMEs the opportunity to network with a host of support service exhibitors including the London Growth Hub, West London Chamber of Commerce, and the Federation of Small Business.

Councillor Shama Tatler Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Highways and Planning opened the day with an overview of the council's aims and ambitions to support small businesses in the borough.

She said: '"We know that times are tough for small and medium sized businesses, and we want to support our business community to thrive and grow in Brent. This Winning Business Show is designed to help SMEs get the support they need, and it was fantastic to see so many local businesses come to take advantage of the support on offer."
