Special long service awards were given to two councillors at Brent Council's Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 1 May. Cllr Reg Colwill of Kenton Ward and Cllr Janice Long of Dudden Hill Ward were presented with certificates and praised by fellow councillors for their 25 years of service.

Paying tribute to Cllr Colwill, Cllr Kansagra said, "I've known him for over 30 years. Residents of the wards he's served still remember him for the good things he's done to this day."

Cllr Choudry and Cllr Knight both paid tribute to Cllr Long, describing her as "extremely industrious", "intelligent" and "straight talking". Cllr Knight added that her "unwavering dedication to service of the people of Brent has remained constant over the past 25 years".

Mayor of Brent, Cllr Ezeajughi, said: "I congratulate Janice and Reg for their continued hard work and commitment to this borough. I'm very pleased to have worked with them and seen, first hand, the positive impact they've had."
