4 June 2019

Residents and local communities are set to benefit from new ways of solving local issues as Brent becomes the 25th council to join a UK-wide network.

The Co-operative Councils' Innovation Network is a collaboration between local authorities committed to finding better ways of working for, and with, people for the benefit of their communities.

Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, said: "At Brent Council we believe in the power of people to shape their local community. Building on the rich traditions of the co-operative movement, we look forward to forging new ways of working with local people for the benefit of their local community."

The network's 25 councils now represents 6.6 million residents across the country with a budget of £8.75 billion to share ways of problem solving, best practice, community involvement and engagement.
