Doors open to new opportunities for residents

12 June 2019

Thousands of people connected with employers looking for new talent at the Job and Apprenticeship Show at Wembley Stadium on 21 May.

Employers such as Border Force and NHS were quick to attract a crowd and zoned areas provided a hub for those looking specifically for careers in care or for training opportunities.

Brent's well known organisations such as the London Designer Outlet and Greggs provided details on their range of flexible job available. Strive Training shared information on their courses and useful tips on how to move up in the career ladder.

The event proved really useful to Zoe who was looking forward to a new career. Zoe said: "I'm here to discover what vacancies are available as I just can't wait to start a new job and actually I'm just so surprised, there's so many stalls and so many people. Hopefully I can find a great opportunity."

Cllr Agha, Brent Council's Cabinet Member for Education, Skills & Employment, said: "We're connecting our residents to the vast opportunities out there. This event allows us to bring some of the best in the industry to Brent. These employers are keen to recruit and have come here to find talent. I know that many people today have made some great connections and are on their way to a successful career."
