Grenfell Tower fire: Brent remembers
14 June 2019
It is the second anniversary of the Grenfell Tower tragedy and Brent Civic Centre has been lit green as a mark of remembrance and solidarity with those whose lives, loved ones and homes were lost. Council staff observed a minute's silence to pay respect to the 72 victims of the fire.
Mayor of Brent, Cllr Ernest Ezeajughi said:
"Today Brent remembers those who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower tragedy by observing a minute's silence and turning the Civic Centre Green for Grenfell.
"We are a neighbouring borough to Kensington and Chelsea and will never forget the 72 people who tragically died, as well as many more whose homes were lost and lives drastically altered.
"My thoughts go out to all of those affected."
