Everyone Active hosts FREE activities to celebrate National Fitness Day
23 September 2019
People from across the Brent area are being invited by their local Everyone Active centre to take part in free activities to mark National Fitness Day on Wednesday 25 September, the country’s biggest celebration of physical activity.
The annual event, which is co-ordinated by ukactive, encourages the nation to enjoy the benefits of physical activity which include improved health, weight management, happiness and wellbeing.
Last year’s National Fitness Day helped to get more than four million people active across 20,000 free events – making it the most active day of the year in the UK. This year aims to encourage even more people to get active with a host of free activities on offer.
Everyone Active is offering Brent residents the chance to get involved in a range of free activities at Vale Farm Sports Centre, Watford Road, North Wembley, HA0 3HG, including:
- A Body Smash class in the Sports Hall from 10.30-11.30am
- Personal training taster sessions from 8-10am and between 4-8pm
- Fitness health checks from 8am-1pm
- Physio and sports massages from 11am-3pm
Spaces are limited for the personal training taster sessions and physio and sports massages so book in advance through the reception or fitness team to secure your spot!
Brent Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health, Culture and Leisure Cllr Krupesh Hirani, said:
“National Fitness Day is a great campaign which helps people realise how fun and beneficial exercise can be. There’s loads going on where residents will be able to get fit, try a new activity and meet new people – so get involved!”
Everyone Active General Manager Tiffany Johnson, said:
“We know that sometimes people are unsure how to get started on their fitness journey but our teams are here to help. We have plenty of options for people to try in our gyms, pools and fitness class studios: there really is something for everyone here.”
