Brent Adult Social Care Awards

The Brent Adult Social Care Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of the social work superheroes who dedicate their lives to helping those in need.

We want to hear from you. Do you know an adult social care worker who goes above and beyond? Have you ever wondered how you can say thank you?

Nominate them for an Adult Social Care Award and help them get the recognition they deserve. Nominations are open until 27 June 2022.

The awards ceremony will take place on 3 August 2022 at Brent Civic Centre from 1pm to 6pm.

The award categories

You can nominate a person or team for one of the award categories below:

Nominate someone for a social care award

Awards for individuals and group

Category	Criteria
Care home worker	Someone who stands out in their care home team as being a hard worker, providing an outstanding service and is passionate about developing their career.
Home care worker	Someone who stands out in their home care team as being a hard worker, providing an outstanding service and is passionate about developing their career.
Extra care worker	Someone who stands out in their Extra Care team as being a hard worker, providing an outstanding service and is passionate about developing their career
Supported Living worker	Someone who stands out in their Supported Living team as being a hard worker, providing an outstanding service and is passionate about developing their career
Shared Lives worker	Someone who stands out in their role as a Shared Live Carer as being a hard worker, providing an outstanding service and enhancing the lives of others
Care home registered manager	Someone with exceptional skills managing a service that supports residents in a care home with a CQC rating of Good or above.
Home Care registered manager	Someone with exceptional skills managing a service that supports residents in their homes.
Extra Care manager	Someone with exceptional skills managing a service that supports residents in this setting.
Supported Living manager	Someone with exceptional skills managing a service that supports residents in this setting.
Unpaid carers award	Someone who supports their loved ones, or someone in the community, and balances this alongside their own lives in an unpaid or informal role.
Social worker award	Someone who has made an outstanding contribution in a social work role, helping residents live a full and independent life.
Support worker award	Someone helping to keep social care going, for example a handy person, housekeeper or receptionist. Nominees will take pride themselves on supporting clients and creating a positive experience.

How to nominate and nomination rules

The person being nominated must work in the borough of Brent.
You cannot nominate a person you are related to.
You can only submit two nominations – whether that is for an individual or group award.
Self-nominations for both individual and group awards will not be accepted.
The individual / group you are nominating must agree to being nominated.
You agree that by submitting a nomination you are happy for the person’s name and photograph to be included in press / media releases.
An individual or group can only win one award. If they are nominated by different people for more than one award, the assessment panel will decide which category they are best suited.
Nominations for party political related work cannot be accepted.
No posthumous awards will be considered.

Deadline for nominations

All nominations must be received no later than 5pm on Friday 27 May 2022.

What happens next

The Panel will carry out an initial shortlisting process against the criteria outlined above
Nominees meeting the selection criteria will be put before an assessment panel and will be notified with a date for an interview in June/July 2022.
The assessment panel’s decision is final.
The winners will be announced at the celebration ceremony at Brent Civic Centre on the 3 August 2022. If you have been nominated please keep this date free in your diaries until we notify you whether your nomination has been successful or not.
