As the Government has lifted the majority of safety measures that were in place across England to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Dr John Licorish from Brent Public Health is encouraging residents who haven’t had their full course of COVID vaccinations, or need to be boosted, to do so.

The pandemic is not over and infection rates remain high. Although formal protections are no longer in place, social distancing and wearing a mask in crowded places still have a major role to play in keeping COVID at bay.

However, undoubtedly, the best defence against COVID are the vaccines. Getting the jab what is keeping COVID hospitalisations and deaths significantly lower than they would be otherwise.

Dr John Licorish, from Brent’s Public Health team, said: “Millions of people across the UK are now able to enjoy the return of our freedoms safe in the knowledge that they are vaccinated.

“Protect yourself, your family and your friends. If you haven’t had your full course of jabs yet please do so, or talk to your GP if you have questions.”
