It’s your turn – YOU Decide! We’re putting £2.25million in the hands of local people to choose which community projects to fund.

Come along to your local Decision Day and cast your vote.

Residents, community groups and voluntary organisations are all invited. Projects fall into two categories:

  • £2million will be divided equally across the borough for physical improvements to local neighbourhoods, this could be anything from painting and refurbishing a local community centre, to improving children’s play areas or installing public water fountains. The money will be split equally between the five Brent Connects areas.
  • A further £250,000 will be given out to fund health and wellbeing projects across the five Brent Connects areas. Ideas that will receive funding will help people live happy, healthy lives for the future.

The dates and locations for your Decision Days are as follows:

Kilburn & Kensal Rise, Saturday 18 June at St Augustine's CE High School, Oxford Road, NW6 5SN
Kingsbury & Kenton, Saturday 25 June at Kingsbury High School (Kingsbury Hall), Princes Avenue, Kingsbury, London, NW9 9JR
Willesden, Saturday 2 July at Willesden Green Library (Performance Space), Willesden High Road, Willesden NW10 2SF
Wembley, Tuesday 12 and 13 July at Brent Civic Centre (The Grand Hall), Brent Civic Centre, Wembley HA9 0FJ
Harlesden, Saturday 16 July at Brent Hub Community Enterprise Centre, 6 Hillside NW10 8BN

Cllr Muhammed Butt, Leader of Brent Council, said:

“

We’ve had a fantastic response from the community, with over 200 great ideas for projects to improve neighbourhoods and the health of local people. It just goes to show how important Brent residents see community and making life better for their neighbours.

”

“These Decision Days are a unique chance to experience how some of the tough decisions are made locally and for you to have your say on which projects get brought to life. Mark your diary and join us!”
