Cutting for Improvers

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for students who have a prior learning experience in cutting hair and would like to improve their skills and knowledge with the most up to date and current cutting and styling techniques. By enrolling on this course, you will develop interpersonal skills, gain essential industry knowledge, as well as learning a variety of cutting and styling techniques using up to date techniques and resources that will enable you to progress on to more advanced hairdressing courses including styling for improvers at Brent Start as well as NVQ hairdressing courses which will enable you to gain a hairdressing qualification and to work as a qualified stylist in the hair industry.

Alternatively, this course can be just for you so that you can learn new skills for your own personal use. Attendance is once a week for 3 hours and a certificate of achievement is given on successful completion of the course.

By the end of the course, you should be able to do the following:

Follow health and safety in the salon,
Consult with clients
One length cut,
Layering techniques
Short graduated layers
Forward graduation
Style and finish hair using a range of extended techniques.

Training head and clamp
Section clips
Hairdressing scissors
Towel
Hairdryer
A set of combs suitable for hairdressing
Brushes for blowdrying
Water spray
Camera or smartphone
