Health and Social Care training

26 February 2018 to 16 March 2018, on Mondays, Tuesdays, 9.30am to 4.00pm, The Library at Willesden Green

Gain the skills, knowledge and qualifications you need to work in the Adult Health and Social Care Sector. Brent Start is working in partnership with Bluebird Care and HomeCare Westminster to run a 10 week course, taking place 2 days a week. There will be interview opportunities at the end of the training.

We will:

  • help you update your CV and train you in interviews skills
  • refer successful clients to Care employers for their vacancies who are supporting this training programme
  • provide you with continued support  and opportunities to apply for vacancies with other adult care employers within the borough through Brent Work.

You will gain:

  • level 1 Preparing to work in Adult Social Care
  • level 1 Award in Employability Skills
  • NCFE Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment for the Workplace

Induction Training with the employers will include

  • equality and diversity
  • fluids and nutrition
  • aware of Mental Health, Dementia and Learning
  • safeguarding children
  • safeguarding Adults
  • basic Life Support
  • BLS First Aid
  • health and safety
  • infection prevention and control
  • medication
  • Moving and Handling
     

Entry requirements

  • 19 years and over. Candidates must be 19 years of age at 31 Aug 2017
  • Literacy skills at Entry 3
  • In receipt of any of the following benefits JSA, ESA and UC

Assessments and Enrolments

You MUST book yourself in for an initial assessment which take place at either Brent Start, 1 Morland Gardens, Stonebridge, NW10 8DY or The Library at Willesden Green, 95 High Road, Willesden, NW10 2SF

  • Friday 9th February SB 10 - 1pm
  • Monday 12th February SB 11 - 2pm
  • Monday 19th February WGL 1-4pm
