"I was most excessively delighted”

Thursday 25 April 2019, 6.30pm to 7.30pm, The Library at Willesden Green, 95 High Road, Willesden, London, NW10 2SF

An illustrated, dramatized presentation by actor and speaker Karin Fernald compiled from the diaries and watercolours of the young Queen Victoria in celebration of the 200th anniversary of her birth. Taught from childhood by artists including Edward Lear, Victoria painted and sketched her favourite singers and dancers, her children and her dogs. As a diarist she was so honest that, years later, the Queen's shocked youngest daughter would burn her mother's old journal! (Fortunately a copy had been kept.)
