Your local authority must review your child’s Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan at least once a year.
The Education, Health and Care plan, also called an EHCP or EHC plan, must have a formal annual review within 12 months of the final plan or the last review. The annual review is a way you can raise concerns or suggest changes if you're not happy with the content of an EHC plan.
Preparing for the review
It is important to prepare as well as you can, as the annual review is your chance to ensure that your child’s EHC plan is fit for purpose. It may be that all is going well and the plan only needs minor tweaks. Or it could be that the school can no longer meet your child’s needs and you are looking for a different school.
