Brent Museum and Archives presents an exhibition celebrating the diversity of Brent’s communities and heritage.
Being Brent will explore green spaces, faith and religion, and identity and home. These themes informed a recent project which connected heritage and wellbeing, which produced three spotlight films, Being Green, Being Alive, and Being Brave.
In this exhibition, the themes will help us delve into what makes Brent so vibrant today, by connecting local communities through creative practice. It will feature artwork made by local children, faith groups, and members of the local community, alongside artist commissions.
There will also be the chance to see 'The Kilburn Tapestries,' produced by designers Helen Delany and Brenda Aherne (AKA Electronic Sheep) which celebrates the lives and history of Irish communities in the Borough of Brent, in particular the Kilburn area.
Look out for an exciting array of accompanying events, including drawing workshops, family craft activities, and a live performance event later this year.
