After recent discussions between Thames21 and Brent Council, the Council has agreed to support the continued operation of the Welsh Harp Environmental Education Centre until January. Over the last five years, we have proved that this Centre has had a significant impact on the local community and is a much-loved facility. This very welcome development will allow the Council to work with local partners to find a long-term suitable solution to keep the Centre open and offer vital opportunities for children and local people to learn and spend time in nature. |
The Welsh Harp Environmental Education Centre, managed by one of the country’s leading waterways charities Thames21 since 2016, is a busy hub for community and outdoor educational activities. The centre is located in a 15 acre woodland, with ponds, a stream, meadow, indoor teaching facilities and a car park. We provide outdoor learning and community volunteering opportunities at the centre. It is also a base for many of our waterway improvement projects taking place across north-west London.
