This year, Brent libraries are supporting the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre with a curated selection of books for juniors to 18 year-olds. Pop down to any Brent library and pick up something to read in honour of Stephen Lawrence.

Twenty-nine years after his murder, the name Stephen Lawrence continues to resonate with everyone who strives to bring awareness of racial injustice, inequalities and the lack of opportunities that disproportionately affects black communities.

Friday April 22, marks Stephen Lawrence Day. His legacy is a symbol of hope, courage and determination that defies racism and shines a light on injustice.

The Stephen Lawrence foundation was set up in his honour to teach tolerance, celebrate diversity and raise voices against discrimination and to build a society where everyone can flourish.

Stephen did not live long enough to pursue his dreams, but through tragedy, children and young people can feel inspired to live theirs.
