Fines to be handed out for street drinking, dog-fouling and other forms of anti-social behaviour following feedback from residents.

Three Public Space Protection Order (PSPOs) will be combined into one borough-wide one. There will be varying rules across the borough, in local parks and around Wembley Stadium. The decision by the council’s Cabinet yesterday (December 12) follows a wide ranging consultation with residents, businesses and visitors earlier this year. From the beginning of 2023, fines of up to £100 can now be issued for urination or defecation, spitting or littering, or drinking alcohol in public.

Councillor Harbi Farah, Cabinet Member for Safer Communities and Public Protection, said:

“

Thank you to all of the residents who gave us feedback on the types of anti-social behaviour you face.

Cabinet Member for Safer Communities and Public Protection

“The feedback from residents and businesses was loud and clear about how anti-social behaviour affects them. This council will not hesitate to protect the law abiding majority from an anti-social minority.

Residents views have been important to shaping the Public Space Protection Order which gives council key workers and the police the powers to crack down on anti-social behaviour. Ultimately, these powers will help us to crackdown on anti-social behaviour in green spaces and public areas and ensure they can be enjoyed by everyone.”
