Are you wondering what to do with an old sofa, washing machine or mattress? Looking to clear out a room or freshen up your home?
The community skips are back again, ready to take your unwanted bulky waste and recycle it or give it a new home.
The skip will be touring the borough, visiting each of Brent’s 21 wards. All dates and locations are listed below.
You can drop off up to five bulky items free of charge, as long as you can show proof of a Brent address.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept builders’ materials (such as rubble), garden waste (including soil), commercial waste, pianos or clinical and hazardous waste.
Representatives from Veolia will join the council’s Neighbourhood Managers to help sort items and ensure they are recycled and reused wherever possible. Residents are also welcome to take away any items to reuse or repurpose.
Cllr Krupa Sheth, Lead Member for Environment, said: “The community skips are always a huge hit with residents. Last year, we swapped the skip for a refuge truck to fit more in and I am pleased we will be doing the same again this year.
“These skips help to stop bulky items from ending up on the streets and cluttering our neighbourhoods. However, we will also fine all those we identify as dumping rubbish illegally. There is no excuse for fly-tipping – your rubbish, your responsibility.”
You can find the community skip in your area on the following dates:
Please check the location and date of your local community skip the day before you go, just in case there are any last minute changes.
