This endangered listed building, on Harrow road, has been brought back to life.

A threatened historic building is now a beautiful family home thanks to Brent’s heritage experts.

The Grade II listed 19th century stuccoed villa is the only listed building in the Kensal Green Conservation Area, and one of about 300 listed buildings in the borough. But it was placed on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register three years ago after falling into a state of disrepair under a previous owner.

Luckily, its new buyer saw the benefit of working with the council to restore the property, turning it into a family home. Brent’s heritage team worked with the owner and Historic England in order to retain the building’s historic characteristics.

The house, set back from Harrow Road, is the only Georgian double fronted property in the conservation area. The roof has bracketed eaves and flat pitched hipped slates, and the home features a carved staircase, a central columned porch and an attractive round headed doorway. All now complemented by a stunning new landscaped front garden.
