From rope walks to viper swings, young adventurers are already enjoying the exciting new playground equipment in Alperton Sports Ground which was funded with cash from developers.

Officially unveiled on Tuesday 28 June, the revamped play area now boasts a giant climber to support balance and cooperative play, table tennis and a fully accessible roundabout.

Children of all ages can also test their abilities on the new rope walk and viper swings.

What’s more, the wider grounds have received a makeover, including:

  • A new eye-catching art mural
  • Extra seating and recycling bins to help keep the park clean and tidy
  • More trees and shrubs to help boost local biodiversity (coming soon - planting season Autumn/Winter 2022)

Cllr Fleur Donnelly-Jackson, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement, Equalities and Culture at Brent Council said:

“

We know how important our green spaces are to residents and we’re delighted to be able to open the new and improved playground in time for summer

”
Cllr Fleur Donnelly-Jackson,
Cabinet Member for Community Engagement

"Last year we asked local people how the park could be improved and your fantastic feedback helped shape our plans. Thank you to everyone who had their say."

“These improvements were made possible because of regeneration in the borough."

“Developers are asked to pay into a community fund called the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL). The cash is then given out as grants to a wide range of community projects that help make a positive difference in local communities across Brent.”

"Special thanks to residents from Ealing Road for leading the NCIL bid process and helping to develop the plans.”
