Brent Fostering’s tightly-knit community is in the limelight during Foster Care Fortnight
Brent Fostering, the Council’s foster care service, is participating in Foster Care Fortnight taking place between 9 and 22 May.
Foster Care Fortnight is a national campaign led by the charity Fostering Network which has been happening annually since 1997. Its aim is to help fostering organisations raise awareness about their mission and recruit more foster carers. Each year the campaign has a specific theme, and 2022’s is ‘fostering communities’. Participants are encouraged to look at how individuals in their communities help one another to achieve the best outcomes for children in care.
Brent Fostering is excited to join the campaign online and spread the word about fostering among Brent residents. There are approximately 100 carers in Brent who look after local children. Each one of them benefits from the support of a dedicated social worker and other professionals within the Council. At the same time, Brent Fostering supports foster parents to build relationships and help one another. More about the support on offer and the amazing community Brent boasts will be revealed on Brent Fostering’s social media channels starting from 9 May.
