WANTED: Can you help us identify these shameless fly-tippers?

WANTED: Can you help us identify these shameless fly-tippers?

Brent Communications

Our hard-hitting and award-winning ‘WANTED’ campaign continues to expose the shameless crooks that dump waste on our streets illegally.

The council is continuing to release CCTV images of people caught on camera dumping rubbish illegally as part of the WANTED campaign which has seen a 75% decrease in fly tipping in hotspot areas, as well as being recognised by Keep Britain Tidy with a prestigious 'Waste Performance of the Year' award earlier this year.

WANTED

For crimes against your streets

We are asking residents to help in the fight against fly-tipping by letting us know if they have information about any of the people pictured in our campaign photos.

Wanted fly-tipper in white van

Do you know the individual who illegally dumped waste from vehicle NT15 FLA by Lawns Court, Wembley? The dumped items had to be cleared from the street at taxpayer's expense.

Wanted flytipper in red van

This vehicle is connected to the illegal dumping of waste on Essoldo Way in Brent. Can you help us identify the driver?

Councillor Krupa Sheth, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said:

"I am glad that we continue to back the WANTED campaign that has been so successful in reducing the amount of illegal dumping across Brent. We still need your help though, as some devious dumpers continue to fly-tip in well-known areas, ruining the streets for everyone.

“

I love Brent and creating an environment that is welcoming and something we can all be proud of is at the heart of what we do. So please do help us with the WANTED campaign and follow advice on how to get rid of waste properly

Your waste - your responsibility

We are also asking residents to make it harder for fly-tippers to get away with illegally dumping rubbish, by making sure that you use companies that are approved at getting rid of your waste.

If the council's Enforcement Team finds your rubbish has been fly-tipped, you need to be able to show that you’ve checked the person taking away your rubbish is fully authorised and will dispose of it properly. By checking their credentials online and paying by bank transfer or card, you can provide evidence of the identity of the person who removed it and the Enforcement Team can investigate them.

If you pay with cash in hand, you could end up being issued with a £400 fixed penalty notice for failing in your ‘duty of care’. If the incident is serious, this might rise to a court summons that could result in a criminal conviction and a big fine.

Notify us of a fly-tip in your local area and find out more online.
