Brent Council have hit a home run at this year’s London in Bloom ceremony alongside their environmental partner Veolia.

They won a total of 9 awards for the sustainable management of Brent’s parks. 8 of these were received for ‘the delivery of an outstanding service’.

Despite several extreme weather events throughout the year, the Veolia Parks team have worked tirelessly to keep Brent’s parks green and tidy. Through Storm Eugene and record-breaking 40°C heatwaves, the crews have worked tirelessly and secured six gold and three silver awards at this year's London in Bloom awards, one of the region's most prestigious competitions.

The London in Bloom awards recognise the capital’s best green and open spaces as well as frontline workers who deliver vibrant neighbourhoods. During this year’s ceremony Veolia and Brent Council secured a whopping 9 awards including for Gladstone Park’s first Gold for Large Park of the Year.

“

I am glad that our amazing front line park crews and Friends of Park groups have been acknowledged for the amazing work they do in keeping our parks clean, tidy, and thriving – especially considering the extreme weather this year.
