Now in its sixth year, the annual awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of businesses in Brent.

Brent Small businesses that have gone the extra mile for customers or the local community in 2022 are invited to nominate themselves for up to seven awards:

  • Best Contribution to the Community
  • Best Online Presence
  • Best Shop Front
  • Best Business Interior
  • Best Business Partnership
  • Friendliest Business
  • Most Green Business

There are also two councillor-nominated awards up for grabs:

  • Best Place to Eat/Drink
  • Best Place to Shop

A panel of judges will select the winners from a shortlist at a special awards ceremony in November.

The winning businesses will be promoted across Brent Council’s social media channels and will feature in a double page spread in Your Brent Magazine delivered to every household in the borough.

Cllr Eleanor Southwood, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy & Citizen Experience at Brent Council said:

“

Our small businesses reflect our rich and diverse communities and help make our borough a wonderful place to live, work and visit.

”

“The Brent Small Business Awards recognise the hard work of our independent traders, shining a spotlight on businesses that have gone above and beyond and helping raise their profiles across the borough.

“The small business community continues to face an uphill battle with the ongoing effects of the pandemic and the rising cost of doing business. These awards are just one of the ways we are supporting them to bounce back.

“So if your business deserves recognition, we want to hear from you – submit your nomination today.

“I wish all of our brilliant businesses the very best of luck.”

This council-run event is a local spin-off to Small Business Saturday, a national campaign taking place on 3 December 2022. The campaign encourages people to shop local and support small businesses in their community.

Businesses can nominate themselves for free online.

The deadline for nominations is Sunday 23 October at midnight.
