Spring is right around the corner, so it’s the perfect time to declutter. Have you got some old bulky items in your home you've been wanting to get rid of, but can't bring yourself to drive to the tip?

With community skips you can get rid of your bulky waste for FREE and donate any reusable items to those who need them, which helps others and is great for the environment too!

The community skips are making a return from Saturday, 18 February to Saturday, 8 April. The skip will be touring the borough, ready to take your bulky waste and then recycle it or give it a new home.

You can drop off up to five bulky items free of charge, as long as you can show proof of a Brent address.

“

We are committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Recycling and repurposing bulky waste items is part of that pledge and helps us towards that goal.

”
Councillor Krupa Sheth ,
Cabinet Member for Environment, Infrastructure and Climate Action

Councillor Krupa Sheth, Cabinet member for Environment, Infrastructure and Climate Action, said: “Community skips are so popular with residents and rightly so - they offer a way to get rid of things that you don't want for free and have been proven to reduce fly-tipping in the borough.”

"We are committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Recycling and repurposing bulky waste items is part of that pledge and helps us towards that goal.”

“Along with our award winning WANTED campaign, this is just one small way you can help keep a clean and green borough that everyone can enjoy.”

Residents are also welcome to take away any items to reuse and repurpose.

Representatives from Veolia will join the council’s Neighbourhood Managers to help sort items and ensure they are recycled and reused wherever possible.

We cannot accept builders’ materials (such as rubble), garden waste (including soil), pallets, commercial waste, pianos, or clinical and hazardous waste, tyres, fridges, batteries, oil and paint.
