We will prioritise and Fast Track your Housing Benefit and Council Tax form for processing if you upload ALL of the necessary supporting documents at the point of submitting your form. Choosing Fast Track means that your form will be processed quicker so that you can get your Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support entitlement decision in five working days, where on average it may take up to 20 working days.
You can only choose the Fast Track option if you have ALL of the supporting evidence ready to submit electronically with your new claim or change in circumstance.

What is a Fast Track service?
To fast track your form means you will receive a decision on your new claim or change in circumstance within five working days after you have submitted the form along with all the required documentation, where on average it may take up to 20 working days.
What is the difference between a Fast Track service and Non- Fast Track service?
For a Non-Fast Track Service, you are not required to submit all of your documents when completing the form. This means that we must write to you requesting for the documentation required to assess your new claim or change in circumstance. This can cause a delay in making a decision and if entitled, receiving your Housing Benefit payment or Council Tax Support. With the Fast Track claim you can receive a decision within five working days providing all documents have been submitted correctly with the form.
What we require from you to Fast Track your form?
You must provide and upload all of the required documents at the same time when submitting your claim. These documents should be clear and readable.
When you complete a Fast Track claim, on the “Evidence” page you will see a checklist of the documents we require. You must submit all of the documents on this checklist.
What if you do not have a scanner?
Ideally you should scan and send the copies of your documents in a PDF format. However, if you do not have a scanner, you can take a clear picture of the documents. There are several apps available which you can download for free, for example CamScanner and Office Lens. With these apps you can convert the pictures of your documents into PDF format. When taking pictures of your documents, you must ensure that the focus is on the document and the surrounding area is not coming into the picture. After the pictures have been taken, convert these into PDF format and upload them when you submit your Fast Track new claim or change in circumstance form.
Are there any terms and conditions?
Yes, Fast Track service is subject to the condition that you must submit all of the required documents on your form. These documents should be clear and readable.
You can still opt for the Fast Track your new claim as long as you submit your claim within 1 month of starting the application form and, your claim date will be the day you started the form.
You can still opt to Fast Track your change in circumstance as long you submit it within 1 month of starting the application form however, you may miss out on benefits you are entitled to if you delay reporting your change in circumstance.
If all the required documents have not been submitted, it will no longer be treated as a Fast Track service and we will write to you about the documents we still require. After we receive all the information, on average your claim may take up to 20 working days to process.
