Fostering with Brent

At Brent we are passionate about supporting our foster carers and believe there are some great reasons why you should join Brent Fostering. We offer attractive rewards, countless benefits, ongoing free training and continuous support.

Our fostering package includes:

  • a generous allowance higher than the minimum rates recommended by the Government
  • Dedicated support from an allocated social worker
  • Out-of-hours support from the Emergency Duty Team at Brent Council
  • Support from other teams in the council such as education, health and wellbeing services
  • Start-up equipment (where applicable)
  • When considering taking a child into your home we will give you all the information available about that young person
  • An extensive range of learning, development and training opportunities
  • Fortnightly newsletters containing fostering updates, advice and benefits for carers
  • Membership with The Fostering Network which offers a 24-hour helpline, discounts for foster carers, and much more
  • Buddying and mentoring with our more experienced carers
  • Fostering support groups where carers meet and share their experiences, get advice, and network
  • Social events for carers and the children

Fostering for Brent means that you will be helping local children and young people to stay in their community, which is probably the biggest reward and the main reason for joining Brent Fostering
