In Brent, we are proud to have lesbian and gay couples fostering children. Several of them felt so supported the first time, they returned to us when they wanted to foster again. However, we are still seeking more people from the LGBT community to come forward and apply to be foster carers.
Brent is an extremely diverse and inclusive borough and we encourage everyone to get involved. Safeguarding children and giving them a loving home and affection can be equally done by all people, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, faith or social status. You can take a look at the happy stories of some of our previous LGBT+ carers and see how this has enriched their lives.
To find out more, attend one of our monthly information evenings, to learn more about the application and assessment processes and how to get started.
You can also contact us and we will give you a call back to have a chat and advise on what you should do next.
