Brent Local Safeguarding Children Board
Brent Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) co-ordinates the way that services are provided to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the borough.
Section 13 of the Children Act 2004 requires every local authority to establish a LSCB for their area and specifies the organisations and individuals (other than the council) that should be represented on them.
Brent LSCB has a statutory responsibility to work with all local agencies that provide services for children and young people, including social care, schools, police, health and youth offending teams. It has a range of roles and functions including developing safeguarding policies and procedures within the borough and scrutinising local arrangements.
