Brent SEND Advisory Team (SAT)
The Brent SEND Advisory Team (SAT) is part of the council’s Inclusion Service. The team is made up of SEND specialists who train and support mainstream schools and nurseries and their special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCOs) to help them achieve excellent provision and remove barriers to learning for pupils with specific learning difficulties (SpLD), physical disabilities and/or medical needs.
The team includes a SEND advisory team leader, a complex needs and inclusion consultant, and an SpLD consultant. The service provides a ‘core offer’ and bespoke training packages. For full details, see the service’s brochureReferrals to the service are generally made by schools, although the team will liaise with other professionals if appropriate to meet the needs of the pupil.
