Heritage for health and wellbeing
Brent Museum and Archives are leading a community project, aiming to improve local people’s wellbeing by connecting to Brent’s astonishing heritage.
Brent's heritage includes local parks, industry and buildings, cultural spaces, natural habitats, memories, cultures and faiths.
Being Brent presents a diverse programme of events and opportunities, throughout the year.
12 local organisations will be leading community projects, through the Heritage Wellbeing Fund.
Useful Productions will be presenting a series of interactive theatre performances inspired by local history. Three spotlight films will be released throughout the year. An artist in residence will create digital artworks with local significance.
Exhibitions will include Roots and Changes: Gujarati Influences and Icons of Colour: Portraits of Brent's Change Makers. The Harlesden Trailblazers project will create a digital walking tour, celebrating local people and places.
Being Brent is supported by a Steering Committee made up of local community members, Brent Council staff and a Brent councillor.
