Willesden Gallery Curators Open Call 2022
Continuing its commitment to working with emerging artists and curators, Willesden gallery is pleased to announce the launch of the Curatorial Open Call 2022.
The Curatorial Open Call invites recent graduates, curatorial collective and young curators from BA and MA contemporary art and/or curatorial studies to propose a project for public exhibition at Willesden Gallery on 19 January – 4 February 2022, with a possibility of an accompanying programme of events.
Although there are no set themes for the exhibition proposal, we encourage and support experimental curatorial practice that questions or challenges current models of placing art in galleries. We are looking for an idea that aims to actively engage new voices in the discussion, encouraging points of view from a variety of disciplines and transcending the confines of contemporary art curating. We particularly welcome ideas which are inspired by and respond to the history, people and places of Brent.
This is an opportunity to curate and to produce collaborative projects with other artists/collectives. The selected curator will receive two weeks free exhibition at Willesden gallery as well as mentoring support in developing, exhibiting, and marketing the exhibition.
