Brent Music Education Hub
Music education hubs have been created to ensure that every child aged 5-18 has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, and to perform as part of an ensemble or choir.
Thanks to a three year funding plan from the Department for Education in 2012, Brent Music Service is now the lead partner in one of the 122 nationwide music hubs.
As leader of a music education hub, we will build on its existing musical activities and work in partnership with a collection of organisations in and around Brent, to create 'joined up' music education provision for children and young people, both in and out of school.
As part of a music hub we offer a variety of activities such as:
- Music'sCool programme - delivered to 80 per cent of Brent schools
- Instrumental ensembles and choirs
- Performances and workshops
- Concert tours
- BMS evening centres across the borough
We are sure that leading the Brent music education hub, will greatly enhance the opportunities for music-making throughout the borough.
