Meet the executive

Hi my name is Siofra, the BYP Media Rep. I joined the executive after being in BYP for four years I really wanted to get involved  more in BYP so I decided to go for the role of Media Rep as I’m someone who likes to write.  I felt the role would  help me with my speaking skills which I previously struggled with and I can say it has done. I also really wanted to be more active in helping the community which I have been able to achieve through this role, one example being my involvement in the youth unemployment event.

Hi I am Jai the UK Youth Parliament rep for Brent. I was quite new to BYP when I decided to run for election. I've always naturally gravitated towards leadership, and take the opportunity whenever I can find it. My interest in politics, particularly youth issues, pushed my decision further, and being 'on the table' when it comes to decision making, was a tempting prospect.

Hi I’m Priya, the Deputy Media Rep for BYP. In the future, I would like to pursue a career related to the media, specifically in writing or journalism.  As a media representative, I believe it is possible to reach countless young people through discussion - be it online or through BYP.  It is so important to acknowledge the voice of young people, especially in a world that often muffles it.
Priya Bharadia – Deputy Media Representative

My name is Najib and I am the Chair of Brent Youth Parliament. I feel privileged to be able to represent young people in Brent and be the face of BYP.

I have been on the Brent Youth Parliament for many years and have gained so many skills, and want to enable other young people to access these opportunities
